UNA-UoS is offering its members the opportunity to participate in a trip to Istanbul (Turkey) in spring 2015!
Often described as the bridge between Europe and Asia, Istanbul is a city with a fascinating history and a vibrant atmosphere. We will be combining visits to the city and famous landmarks together with a Model UN experience organized by a local University.
At a glance
The trip will be taking place from the 21st to the 27th of April 2015 included. It will combine two and half days in Istanbul, sightseeing, and two and a half conference days. For more information on the conference, Faith University Model United Nations, please see their website.
Please note that the conference caters for both experienced and beginner MUNers.
For a more detailed breakdown of the program, please see the relevant page.
UNA will be contributing to the costs of a portion of the delegation. While we are still finalizing the details of this, we expect it to at least cover the conference costs (inclusive of meals during conference days) and flight expenses for 4-5 participants. More information will be made available in due course.
We forsee this program to be very popular. As such, we recommend you apply as soon as possible.
Vienna & Bratislava Society Trip
26 February – 1st March 2015
We hope that you are all excited about our annual society trip! During this trip we will visit two central-European capitals, Vienna and Bratislava.
Vienna is believed to be the most cultural and glamorous city in the world. Today’s relevance of the city for the international community stems from the present UN bodies in the Vienna International Centre, which will seek to visit (IAEA, CTBT, UNHCR, UNIDO and many others). To experience the lifestyle of thousands of diplomats and UN officials living in Vienna, we will also participate at a concert of the “Mozart Ensemble” in the “Mozart house”, which is the oldest concert hall in Vienna and the place where Mozart used to work and play.
Bratislava should be less serious and even more fun. We will experience the reasons for which is Bratislava described as the Europe’s most relaxed city (its old-town charm, sophisticated restaurants, traditional pubs, good music, cheap drinks and tasty food). The added spice of the visit to this city will of course be provided by its renowned night-life attractions (price of one pint is less than a pound).
OxiMUN 2014 was a great success for our delegation and all members enjoyed it thoroughly! Stay tuned for more updates on future conferences and events!
